Community Foundation Currently Accepting Grant Applications
The Community Foundation is currently accepting grant applications in the areas of Arts & Culture, Civic & Education, Environment, Health and Human Services. The Community Foundation evaluates grant applications three times each year in January, April and September. Funding decisions are made about two months after each application deadline. The intervening time is spent carefully reviewing each proposal in order to make the most effective use of grant funds available.
To qualify for a grant from the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, an applicant must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization or other eligible organization. Organizations without a 501(c)(3) designation may contact the Foundation regarding eligibility;
- Serve residents in one or more of the 20 towns within the Foundation’s service area: Barkhamsted, Bethlehem, Canaan (Falls Village), Colebrook, Cornwall, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Hartford, Norfolk, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, Torrington, Warren, Washington, and Winsted.
- Provide a service that meets one of the Foundation’s five focus areas: Arts & Culture, Civic & Education, Environment, Health, and Human Services
